ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – A man who fired a gun at his mother during an argument in March has been captured.

On Saturday, a man wanted for previously discharging a handgun and assaulting his mother was arrested after fleeing from an officer while in possession of a gun.

“At 8:09 PM, Officer Ivaylo Ivanov responded to the area of South Carolina and Baltic Avenues after receiving information from Sergeant Garry Stowe that Kevin Robinson was in the area. Robinson was wanted after being involved in a domestic incident on March 26 where he assaulted his mother and fired a handgun in her direction as she fled into a bedroom,” the Atlantic City Police Department said. “The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene my medical personnel. Officers located evidence of gunfire in the residence.”

Officer Ivanov located Robinson who fled on foot. Once apprehended, Robinson began to resist arrest. Sergeant Chris Lodico arrived to assist in placing Robinson in custody. After securing one wrist in a handcuff, the officers observed a loaded handgun next to Robinson. The officers were able to take Robinson in custody without further incident. The handgun contained hollow-point ammunition and Robinson was found in possession of a small amount of cocaine.

Robinson was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Charges are mere accusations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
