CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland Police Department has announced arrests made during the execution of two warrants in the community.

BENCH WARRANTS SERVED

On Wednesday, April 20, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served two bench warrants on Steven Royce Malone. The warrants were issued as a result of Malone failing to appear for his court cases at the District Court of Allegany County. Malone was originally charged with Disorderly Conduct and Failure to Obey a Reasonable and Lawful Order. He was arrested and later seen by a District Court Commissioner for his initial hearing. Malone was released on his personal recognizance pending trial.

ARREST WARRANT SERVED


On Wednesday, April 20, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Christopher Scott Cook. The warrant was issued in connection with an assault investigation that began on April 6, 2022. On this date, Cook reported to officers that a male subject had threatened him with a knife. After further investigation, it was learned that Cook had actually been the subject in possession of a knife and that he had an altercation with the subject that he reportedly threatened him. The investigating officer applied for charges at the District Court and an arrest warrant was issued for Cook. He was arrested and later seen by a District Court Commissioner for his initial hearing. Cook was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $7,500 bond.
