Cleveland, OH – Yesterday
afternoon, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force
(NOVFTF) arrested Torrez Smith, 23, and Mark James, 31, who were both
wanted by Cleveland Division of Police for homicide. It is
alleged that on January 8, 2022, Torrez shot and killed Alivia Leeth,
42, during a drive by shooting near 3900 block of Broadway Ave. in
Cleveland. Yesterday morning, task force members arrested Smith at an
associates address near the 9400 block of Cherry Tree Drive in
Strongsville. Mark James is alleged to have killed Darius Sikes
Jr, 30, on January 1, 2022. Police say that Sikes was found in the
doorway of a residence near the 14900 block of Kinsman Road with
multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen area. Yesterday
afternoon, task force members arrested James at an address near the
10200 block of Anderson Ave. in Cleveland. U.S. Marshal Pete
Elliott stated, “The Cleveland Division of Police homicide unit
continues to produce outstanding work and our task force is doing our
best to get these violent fugitives off our Cleveland streets.”
