Anne Arundel Police Reports: Brooklyn Park, Odenton, Lothian, Annapolis

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD – The Anne Arundel Police Department has issued the following police reports of crimes committed recently in the county.

Northern District -CDS Violation – Brooklyn Park

On April 24, 2022, at approximately 10:40 p.m., an officer stopped a gray 2008 Chevrolet on Church Street and Ballman Avenue in Brooklyn Park for a traffic violation. During the stop, the officer located and seized approximately 17.84 grams of suspected crack cocaine, approximately 8 grams of suspected marijuana, approximately 9.93 grams of an unknown substance and packaging material. The driver was arrested and charged accordingly.

Western District – Weapon Violation / Odenton

On April 24, 2022, at approximately 11 p.m., officers made a traffic stop on a vehicle whose registration plate did not belong on the car, in the area of Annapolis Road and Blue Water Boulevard. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers gained probable cause for a search of the car. During the search, they recovered marijuana and a 9mm ghost gun. The driver was charged accordingly.

Southern District – Non-Contact Shooting-Robbery / Lothian

On April 22, 2022, at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Berkley Court, and Sands Road for shots heard in the area. When officers arrived, they located an 18-year-old victim who advised he was riding his dirtbike when a dark-colored sedan pulled in front of him, causing him to stop. The rear passenger of the vehicle got out and began shooting at him. The victim fled on foot and the dirtbike was stolen by the suspects. Detectives located evidence of a shooting on the scene. There were no injuries reported, and Southern District detectives are investigating. They are asking anyone with any information to call 410-222-1960 or the TipLine at 410-222-4700.

Southern District – Commercial Robbery / Annapolis

On April 22, 2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers responded to the Macy’s at the Annapolis Mall in reference to an armed robbery. According to several store employees, two black males and two black females entered the store and began to select several boxes of perfume from the women’s fragrance counter. They concealed the items in bags. One of the store employees approached the group and asked them what they were doing. At that point, one of the male suspects displayed a pistol in his waistband. The suspects then fled in a black Infiniti SUV. Approximately $2500 worth of merchandise was stolen. A canvass was conducted, but the suspects/vehicle were not located. 3) Black female, wearing a dark sweatshirt and face mask, carrying a shopping bag
