Maplewood Crime Report: Motor Vehicle Thefts, Robbery, and Malicious Damage Reported

MAPLEWOOD, NJ – The Maplewood Police have released the following information regarding crimes that took place between April 7-13 of 2022.

April 13, 2022, Theft from Vehicle; During the daytime hours an unsecured construction vehicle parked on Oakview Ave was entered and items were taken.

April 13, 2022, Trespassing; At approximately 9:45 pm a male was observed entering a vehicle on Rutgers St. Responding officers located the juvenile male in took him into custody.


April 12, 2022, Trespassing; At 7:15 pm a male, Eddie Poole of Irvington, known to officers was observed inside the Wawa store where he was previously given notice he was not allowed. He was charged for Defiant Trespass on a summons.

April 11, 2022, Motor Vehicle Theft; During the overnight hours an unsecured vehicle parked on Woodland Rd with the keys in it was stolen.

April 11, 2022, Robbery; Just after midnight, a male requested a carton of cigarettes in Quick Chek. When payment was requested, he claimed to have a gun and threatened the clerk before leaving the store with the cigarettes.

April 10, 2022, Malicious Damage; At approximately 5 pm a home on Ball Terr had it’s window smashed with a rock.

April 7, 2022, Theft from Auto; During the overnight hours a vehicle parked in the Burger King lot was entered and a briefcase and fanny pack were stolen
