Convicted Sex Offender Arrested Over Weekend

OCOTILLO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested an undocumented individual with a prior sexual offense conviction, Sunday night. 

At approximately 9:21 p.m., agents encountered this individual who illegally entered the United States, near the mountains of the Jacumba Wilderness region, one half mile north of the U.S./Mexico border. The individual was placed under arrest and transported to the El Centro Sector Processing Center. 

Record checks revealed extensive criminal convictions and immigration history. The undocumented individual was previously convicted for a sexual offense with time served in jail. Additionally, the  subject was previously ordered to be removed from the U.S.

Since Oct. 1, 2021, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents have arrested and/or removed 13 individuals either convicted or wanted on sexual offense charges.


U.S. Border Patrol will process all the individuals accordingly.
