Police Investigating Murder in Chaplin, Person of Interest Sought

CHAPLIN, CT – The Connecticut State Police today are searching for the driver of a pickup truck in the area of a murder that took place early Sunday morning in Chaplin. CSP said that at approximately 6:12 a.m., troopers from Troop D-Danielson responded to 214 Miller Road in Chaplin for the report of an assault with life-threatening injuries.

“Upon arrival, Troopers located one deceased male victim. The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time,” CSP said. “State Police Detectives from Eastern District Major Crime responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. As the investigation progressed, detectives identified a person of interest.”

The state police said detectives are currently working towards locating that person who is believed to be driving a 1989 Ford F-350 light blue in color with a red stripe on the tailgate bearing Minnesota license plateYBN8321. The vehicle or its’ operator should not be approached if located.
