South River DPW Announces Spring Hydrant Flushing

Charlie Dwyer

SOUTH RIVER, NJ – The South River Water Department’s 2022 spring hydrant flushing program runs from May 2nd until May 19th.

During hydrant flushing, there may be a decrease in water pressure as well as a discoloration in the water. This is not harmful and will not affect the safety of the water for drinking and sanitation purposes. If discoloration occurs, run your cold water for several minutes and flush your toilets once or twice to clear your lines. All residents are urged not to do laundry while hydrant flushing is taking place in their neighborhood.
