Two Alleged Drug Dealers from Whiting Charged During Routine Traffic Stop in Lakehurst

LAKEHURST, NJ – The Lakehurst Police Department announced it had made an arrested last Thursday of two suspected drug dealers. Police said they had arrested Christopher Cornell Jr, 30, and James Pollack, 56, both of Whiting, after officers conducted a traffic stop.

“On April 28, 2022, Officer Harold Hester was on a traffic detail with the Ocean County Prosecutors Office Vehicular Homicide Unit in an effort to crackdown on intoxicated drivers,” police said in a statement. “At approximately 7:44 PM, Officer Hester conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 70 on an Oldsmobile Alero based on a lookup of the registration, which indicated that the driver had an active traffic warrant. The driver, Christopher Cornell Jr, was placed under arrest for the active warrant without incident. The passenger of the vehicle, James Pollack, was seen making unnatural movements inside of the vehicle during the motor vehicle stop.”

According to a police report, at this time, it was also discovered that Mr. Pollack had an active traffic warrant, in which he was placed under arrest without incident. During a search incident to arrest, Pollack was found to be in possession of approximately 100 wax folds of suspected heroin.


” A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of an additional 150 wax folds of suspected heroin. Both Cornell Jr. and Pollack were transported to Lakehurst Police Headquarters for processing, in which both were charged with Possession of CDS and Possession of CDS with the intent to distribute. Cornell Jr. was ultimately lodged at the Ocean County Jail and Pollack was later released,” the department said.
