Convicted Sex Offender Arrested Over the Weekend

CALEXICO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested an undocumented individual with a prior sexual offense conviction, early Sunday morning.  

At approximately 2:12 a.m., agents apprehended two individuals who illegally entered the United States near the downtown Calexico, east of the Calexico West Port of Entry. The individuals were placed under arrest and transported to the El Centro Sector Processing Center.  

Record checks of one the individuals revealed criminal convictions and immigration history. The undocumented individual was previously convicted for a sexual offense with time served in jail. Additionally, the subject was previously ordered to be removed from the U.S. by an immigration judge  

Since Oct. 1, 2021, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents have arrested and/or removed 14 individuals either convicted or wanted on sexual offense charges.

U.S. Border Patrol will process all the individuals accordingly.
