LITTLE EGG HARBOR, NJ – The New Jersey State Park Police on Wednesday said a fugitive sex offender recently released from prison was last seen hiding out in a Southern Ocean County State Park.

The NJSPP issued a warning to visitors to Wharton State Forest, Bass River State Forest, and Batona Trail Hikers.

“Please call NJ State Park Police (1-877-927-6337) if you spot Theodore Blackson,” the department said. “He is wanted by law enforcement and known to frequent these areas. Blackson often camps in wooded areas along the Batona Trail. He is a 5’11” tall light-skinned black male.”

Police said Blackson usually wears a green camo jacket. In the past, he has been seen panhandling in this area as well.

In 2010, Blackson was one of two men arrested and convicted after getting a teenage girl drunk and sexually assaulting her in a Little League baseball field dugout in Camden County. He was sentenced to four years in prison.

One camper said she spotted a person who resembled Blackson at the Batona Campground on April 9th. Another spotted him on the Batona Trail this past weekend.
