Suspect Arrested for Weapons Charge After Traffic Stop in North Amityville

NORTH AMITYVILLE, NY – Police in North Amityville have announced an arrest was made after noticing a man driving erratically.

According to police, a 33-year-old man was arrested earlier this week on weapons charges following a traffic stop in North Amityville. After pulling over the driver for failing to maintain his lane, the officer noticed him attempting to conceal a loaded silver Taurus revolver in his right front pocket. The man was arrested and the gun was recovered.

The suspect’s identity was not released by the Suffolk County Police Department.
