Police Continue to Work 2001 Leslie Preer Murder Cold Case in Chevy Chase

CHEVY CHASE, MD – Police have not given up on trying to solve the 2001 murder case of Leslie Jennings Preer. Preer was killed on May 2, 2001, and found dead in her home after she didn’t show up for work that day.

According to police at the time, at approximately 11:47 a.m., Montgomery County Police Officers were dispatched to her home in the 4800 block of Drummond Avenue in Chevy Chase for the report of a suspicious situation.

“When Leslie Preer did not show up to work in the morning of May 2, 2001, her employer contacted her family members to check her welfare,” detectives working the cold case today said. “Leslie’s employer and her husband responded to Leslie’s residence, where they discovered a suspicious scene. Leslie was located deceased inside of the residence with apparent trauma to her body.”

Leslie Jennings Preer’s murder has not been forgotten and police are asking anyone who might have new leads to follow, to contact the department’s cold case unit at 240-773-5070.
