Toms River, NJ – Toms River Township’s annual Downtown Toms River Food Festival has been canceled due to forecasted rain all weekend long. With a scheduled date for Saturday and a rain date for Sunday, today township officials confirmed the festival has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.

Each year, the food festival is a culinary collection of restaurants and vendors coming out to unofficially kick off the summer event season in Downtown Toms River.

This weekend’s Toms River forecast calls for heavy rains, wind and coastal flooding Friday night into Sunday morning with high winds, clouds and a 25% chance of more rain.

Officials made the decision Friday to call the event.
