PEMBERTON, NJ – The Pemberton Township Police Department has just announced its newest member of the force, K-9 Bodhi. The department said Bodhi was adopted from the Phoenix Animal Rescue located in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania by Detective Corporal Czajka of the Burlington City Police Department.

“DCpl Czajka knew that the Pemberton Township Police Department was in the market for a new K-9 and contacted Chief Watters,” the department said in the hiring announcement today.

Last week, Detective Corporal Czajka brought Bodhi to the Pemberton Township Police Department to introduce him to his new co-workers.

Bodhi is an eight-month-old Yellow Labrador Retrieve. Bodhi was officially adopted by the PTPD through a resolution passed by the Pemberton Township Council. Bodhi will be attending an upcoming class to become a narcotics K-9 for the agency.

“We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to DCpl Czajka, the Burlington City Police Department and the Phoenix Animal Rescue for helping Bodhi become part of our family,” the department said.

Insiders in the township said Bohdi will be compensated for his employment in Scooby snacks, a caring and loving home and lots of petting and playing, but this was unconfirmed at this time.
