McKees Rocks, PA- Police in McKees Rocks responded to a call in the Hays Manor Housing Project after a woman was shot on Saturday at around 10:40 p.m.
“First responders found an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound to her foot. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital in stable condition,” police said. “An adult female was detained by responding officers. The investigative assistance of the Allegheny County Police General Investigations Unit was requested by McKees Rocks Police.”
Allegheny County detectives responded to the scene and initiated an investigation, finding another woman was responsible for the shooting.
“Detectives determined that 27-year-old Sherrita Bey of McKees Rocks was the person responsible for the shooting,” the department said. “After consulting with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, Bey was charged with one count of aggravated assault and one =ount of recklessly endangering another person. Bey was transported to the Allegheny County Jail and is awaiting arraignment.”
