Tow Truck Driver Who Was Shot Multiple Times Thanks Plainfield Police For Live Saving Efforts

PLAINFIELD, IN – A tow-drive driver who was shot multiple times last month came to town hall to thank the police officers who saved his life.

Matt Roberts, the tow truck driver who was shot multiple times on I-70 just outside of Town limits in March, came to tonights Town Council meeting to personally present five Plainfield Police Department officers awards for their swift actions that day in saving his life and apprehending the suspect.

Officer Jacob Smith was presented the Department’s Lifesaver Award and with the Town’s Community Of Values Award for his actions that March morning, which ultimately saved Roberts’ life. Cpl. Wuest, Officer Gruca, Officer Sumner and Sgt. Nolin were also recognized for their work in helping to apprehend the suspect.
