Woman Charged After Beating Man With Baseball Bats and Sticks

UTICA, NY – A Utica woman has been arrested after seriously beating a man with baseball bats and sticks, according to the Utica Police Department.

On Tuesday, at approximately 9:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to an apartment at 1736 Armory Dr. regarding an assault investigation.

“Upon arrival, officers said they were met by the victim who stated that several parties, including one whom he knew as Yarida Quiones-Cotta age 45 of Utica, had assaulted him by striking in the head and body with baseball bats and sticks,” the Utica Police Department said. “The victim had clearly visible injuries to include several large contusions to his face and head, and was ultimately transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for treatment.”


Quinones-Cotto was located in another apartment and taken into custody without issue. Additionally, the objects used in the assault were also located nearby.
