One Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in Hanover

HANOVER, MD – Police in Anne Arundel County have reported the death of McKinley Jasper Lipscomb, 51, of Baltimore as a result of a fatal crash on MD 100.

According to police, on Monday,at approximately 8:15 p.m., officers responded to the area of MD 100 eastbound just east of Harmons Road for a single-vehicle crash involving an SUV.

“A preliminary investigation suggests that the SUV was traveling eastbound on MD 100. For an undetermined reason, the SUV left the roadway nearly striking a bridge on the right shoulder,” the Anne Arundel County Department said. “The SUV continued back across both eastbound lanes and struck a guardrail in the median. The SUV continued along the guardrail, then crossed back across both eastbound lanes. The SUV struck two trees in a wooded area off the right side shoulder, where the vehicle rolled onto its left side.”


Lipscomb was pronounced deceased on the scene by members of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. The driver was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
