MAPLE SHADE, NJ – Police in Maple Shade found the body of a deceased woman inside a room at the Bel-Air Motor Lodge on Wednesday. Now, Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Maple Shade Police Chief Christopher J. Fletcher have said a homicide investigation is underway.

Prosecutor Coffina said the investigation began just before 11:30 a.m. after officers from the Maple Shade Police Department were called to the motel in the 2800 block of Route 73 for a report of an unresponsive female.

The victim’s name is being withheld until her identity is confirmed and her family has been informed about the crime,” Coffina said. “An autopsy will be performed by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood to determine the cause and manner of death.”
