CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland Police Department has reported the following incidents throughout the city from May 12, 2022. This list doesn’t represent all calls for police service or police incidents.
Disorderly Conduct, Fail to Obey, and Obstructing Arrest
On May 12th, 2022, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business in the 400 block of Virginia Avenue for a reported disturbance. Upon officer’s arrival, they spoke with store employees who advised that a male, later identified as Christopher Lee, was causing a disturbance inside the store. Officers were able to locate Lee who was still disrupting the store’s operations. Officers spoke with Lee, who refused to identify himself. After an extended period of Lee refusing to provide any identifying information, he was subsequently placed under arrest. While being placed under arrest Lee began to yell and cause even more of a disturbance and attempted to resist arrest. Lee was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center, and a quantity of a controlled dangerous substance was located on his person. Lee was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held on $2,500
Arrest: Christopher Sheldon Lee, age 33, Rockville Maryland.
Charges: Disturbing the Peace, Fail to Obey, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing and Hindering, and Two Counts of Contraband in a Place of Confinement.
Arrest Warrants Served
On May 12th, 2022, officers of the Cumberland Police Department served two Arrest Warrants on Richard Lowry. The Arrest Warrants were issued by both the District and Circuit Court. Lowry was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center where he was held without bond.
Arrest: Richard Allen Lowry
Charges: Theft $100-$1,500, Theft Scheme $100-$1,500, Violation of Probation.
On May 12th, 2022, officers of the Cumberland Police Department served an Arrest Warrant on Jessica Jones. The Arrest Warrant was issued by the Circuit Court when Jones violated her probation. Jones was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center where she was held without bond.
Arrest: Jessica Alexis Jones, age 29, Cumberland Maryland.
Charge: Violation of Probation.
On May 12th, 2022, officers of the Cumberland Police Department served an Arrest Warrant on Steven Self. The Arrest Warrant was issued by the District Court when he failed to appear for his trial on April 25th, 2022. Self was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center where he awaits his initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
Arrest: Steven Terry Self, age 67, Cumberland Maryland.
Charge: Failure to Appear.
On May 12th, 2022, officers of the Cumberland Police Department served an Arrest Warrant on John Brennan. The Arrest Warrant was issued by the District Court when he violated his probation. Brennan was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held on a $500 bond.
Arrest: Steven Tyler Brennan, age 30, Cumberland Maryland.
Charge: Violation of Probation.
