Car Crashes into Berkeley Township Rite-Aid

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ – A vehicle crashed through the wall of a Rite-Aid store in Berkeley Township Sunday night. According to the Berkeley Township Police, the vehicle, a Jeep Wrangler hit the side of the building at around 11:33 a.m., partially knocking down the exterior wall of the building.

“On May 15th 2022 at 1133hrs the Berkeley Township Police Department responded to a one car crash at the Rite-Aid located on Rt. 9 in the Bayville section of town,” the police said in a report. “Upon arrival officers observed a single car crash in which a Jeep Wrangler had hit the side of the building and partially knocked down the exterior wall.”

Berkeley Township construction officials deemed the building unsafe and the store had to close pending repairs.


At this time the cause of the crash is under investigation by the Berkeley Township Traffic Safety Unit. No injuries were reported.
