Newark Police Release Video to Identify Suspected Car Burglar

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Police Department has released surveillance video of a suspected car burglar who entered a car and stole items from within it.

“Just after 9:15 a.m.., police responded to the area of Salem Street near Rockland Terrace on a call of a theft from an automobile. The suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and stole a pink wallet, containing $40.00, two credit cards, and a driver’s license,” The Newark Department of Public Safety said. “Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in quickly identifying this suspect as part of their investigation. He is described as a Black male, wearing no shirt, a black jacket, and camouflage pants.”

Director O’Hara urges anyone with information about this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
