Suspect Charged After Abandoning Cats and Kittens at Falls Village High School

CANAAN, CT – Connecticut State Troopers have rescued five cats abandoned in Falls Village last Thursday and they are now being cared for by the Falls Village Animal Control.

State troopers responded to a call Thursday at around 10:00 p.m. at Housatonic Valley Regional High School in Falls Village after a report of a cardboard box containing 2 adult cats and 3 kittens.

Falls Village Animal Control Officer (ACO), Lindsay Burr responded to assume the investigation and take custody of the cats.

“During the investigation, ACO Burr identified an individual believed to be responsible for abandoning the cats and they have been charged with five (5) counts of C.G.S. 53-247, Cruelty to Animals,” the Connecticut State Police said. “The cats and kittens are now feline fine! They are being cared for & held as evidence at this time.”
