Utica Police Officers Accompany Local Kickboxing Kids to Junior Olympic Event

UTICA, NY (PRESS RELEASE) – On May 21st, 2022 Ofc. Christopher Evans & Ofc. Wesley Jackson of the Utica Police Department traveled to Troy, NY with members of Wilson’s Cops and Kids Boxing Club to participate in a junior Olympic amateur boxing event. Members had the opportunity to represent the City of Utica and competed against local & out of State boxing gyms during this event. Wilson’s amateur boxers will be competing next month, June 18th, in Lake George.

Wilson’s Cops and Kids is a nonprofit organization that teaches the fundamentals of boxing to the City of Utica’s youth in partnership with the Utica Police Department. This program offers it’s participants the opportunity to interact with Police Officers in a positive environment while developing higher self-esteem, work ethic, self control and discipline through the sport of boxing.

This program is free to all and located on the second floor of the Veteran’s Outreach Center, 726 Washington Street Utica,NY.
