Fistfight Leads to Shots Fired in Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH- The Columbus Police Department is investigating a felony assault that took place on Tuesday. Victims of the crime told detectives that they planned to engage in a fistfight at a residence along Wisconsin Avenue.

“Upon arrival, the suspect brandished a knife and a gun. As the victims attempted to disengage from the confrontation, the suspect slashed the tire(s) of the victim’s vehicle,” according to investigators. “With slashed tires, the victims still attempted to flee the area, and while doing so, multiple gunshots were fired into the vehicle.” One person was struck in the left shoulder.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The incident is still under investigation.
