65-Year-Old Stabbed to Death in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (PRESS RELEASE by ACPD) – An investigation into the fatal stabbing of a 65 year-old man on Sunday afternoon in Atlantic City is continuing by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor William Reynolds announced.

On June 5, 2022 at approximately 2:20 pm, Atlantic City Police received an emergency call for a male down at Unit North block of Kentucky Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ.  The male victim, identified as Dwight Hutchinson, 65, of Atlantic City, was located unresponsive.  Medical personnel arrived but were unable to revive Hutchinson. Hutchinson was pronounced deceased at the scene.

An autopsy was completed by the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office and the cause of death was ruled to be injuries sustained by a stab wound.  The manner of death was determined to be homicide.


This continues to be an active and cooperative investigation between the ACPO Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department.
