WILMINGTON, DE – A female employee tasked with closing the Dollar Tree store at 3603 Silverside Roa in Wilmington was assaulted and robbed Monday night, according to police.

The Delaware State Police reported that around 10:23 p.m., troopers were dispatched to the store for a report of a robbery.

“Upon arrival, it was learned that two male suspects approached a male and a female employee who just exited the store after closing for the night,” police said. “One of the suspects demanded the store’s deposit money and began striking the male victim over the head with an unknown object. The victim fell to the ground and dropped the deposit. The suspects grabbed the deposit and fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.”

The victim was transported to an area hospital with injuries to the head. The second employee was able to run away and was not injured during the incident.

There are currently no photos of the suspect available at this time. The suspects were both described as two unknown males approximately 6’ tall, 190 lbs., wearing all dark clothing and a mask.
