Brick Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges

BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ – A routine traffic stop in Brick Township led to drug charges for a Waretown man.

On Saturday, May 21st, at about midnight, Brick SCU Detectives observed motor vehicle violations and suspicious activity in the actions of a subject later identified as Anthony Alexander, 26, of Waretown.

A police investigation led to a search of the vehicle and the discovery of drug paraphernalia related to heroin use. Alexander was charged with possession of heroin, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) in a motor vehicle, and a motor vehicle violation.

Alexander was subsequently charged on a warrant and lodged in Ocean County Jail. He has since been released.
