SOUTH SEASIDE PARK, NJ – Police and Coast Guard units searched the ocean off Island Beach State Park after a 59-year-old woman swimming in the ocean at around 8:05 pm on Monday was swept out to sea with the current. She was found the next day at 11:00 am.

The Coast Guard said the woman struggled to return to shore, according to her husband, who was not swimming in the ocean at the time. A strong riptide is suspected of having pulled her from shore. Her body was later recovered by search and rescue teams.

The woman was in the area of parking area A22 at the time of her disappearance.
