Rabid Cat that Attacked Several People in Manchester Found Dead Tests Positive For Rabies

MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – Police in Manchester today reported that a feral cat who had reportedly attacked several residents in the township was found dead and tested positive for rabies.

The incident happened in the Pine Acres Manor section of the town, and police said the cat was found dead later in the day after the attacks dead, near home. Police are now advising any residents that may have come n contact with the cat to seek medical attention and to ensure their dogs and cats are up to date on their rabies shots.

Rabies is highly contagious to humans and animals alike, and animals infected with rabies may exhibit abnormal behavior, high temperatures, anorexia, aggression, and impairment.
