CLEVELAND, Oh – Donald Jackson-Gates, 19, the great-grandson of former Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson, was arrested and charged with the murder of a 20-year-old Cleveland man, Chris’Shon Coleman.

According to police, on May 14, the victim was hanging out near East 40th Street and Quincy Avenue in Cleveland. Donald Jackson-Gates approached the victim and shot him several times. The Cleveland Division of Police, the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority, and Cleveland Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and the victim was pronounced deceased.

Court records show Coleman is the nephew of Robert Shepard, who has been accused of shooting and killing Jackson-Gates’ uncle Frank Q. Jackson last September. At this time, it appears the shooting of Coleman could have been a revenge killing for the death of Jackson last year, but police did not confirm this.
