BALTIMORE, MD – In Baltimore, children are killing each other. It’s a scene that plays out weekly as teens across the city resort to using guns to settle their differences.
Earlier this year, 17-year-old Neal Mack was one of those victims. Mack, essentially still a child was shot dead on May 28thy in the 200 block of East Pratt Sreet. He was gunned down by a 15-year-old child. That child was arrested today.
Mack was described as a teen leader in his community. A kid with a bright future. He was one of the ones who was going to make it out of the neighborhood and become somebody. Maybe a future mayor of Baltimore. We’ll never know.
Police did not release his name because he is a juvenile, but man enough to pull a trigger to take another human life over a petty difference that, in the scheme of things, doesn’t matter.
But Neal Mack will never grow up, get married, or have children. He’ll never go to college, and that’s not because of the gun; it’s because of the systemic cycle of violence plaguing Baltimore and the ineffectiveness of the city’s woke mayor to truly tackle the crime wave going on his city.
But the 15-year-old didn’t just shoot and kill young Mack. He also shot two others in his complete disregard for human life.
That ‘boy’ was arrested at his home in Howard County, Maryland, by members of the Warrant Task Force at approximately 6:35 a.m. on June 16, 2022. He has been charged with 1st Degree Murder, 2 counts of 1st Degree Attempted Murder, Reckless Endangerment, and various firearms violations.
If there is any light at all to shine on the incident, it’s that the boy is now being charged as an adult.
