Buffalo, NY – A woman who worked for the Buffalo Police Department pleaded guilty to official misconduct hours before her trial was set to begin.

Monica Lalley, 54, of Buffalo, who worked as a report technician for the Buffalo Police Department, intentionally falsified her own payroll entries between March 23, 2020 and April 30, 2020, according to Erie County District Attorney John Flynn.

“The defendant fraudulently collected $1,034.00 in overtime pay. The defendant was suspended after the falsified payroll entries were discovered. She resigned from her position prior to pleading guilty to the charge today,” Flynn said. “As part of the plea, the defendant signed a Confession of Judgment to pay full restitution.”

Flynn said Lalley faces a maximum of one year in jail when she is sentenced on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. She continues to remain released on her own recognizance as the charge is a non-qualifying offense for bail.
