Schenectady Police Arrest Man Who Vandalized Church with Swastikas

SCHENECTADY, NY- The Schenectady Police Department has made an arrest regarding the symbols such as swastikas that were drawn on downtown buildings last Tuesday and Wednesday night.

Gabriel Mims, 28, was arrested and is facing four counts of aggravated harassment in the first degree.

“At approximately 10:26 pm on Tuesday, June 14th, Schenectady County Dispatch received a call for swastikas drawn on the side of St. Joseph’s Church; 225 Lafayette Street,” according to police. “Upon further investigation, officers located other businesses throughout the downtown area that had swastikas and other symbols drawn on them with chalk.”
