CUMBERLAND, MD – Tuesday was not a good day for two women in Cumberland, but thanks to the Cumberland Police Department, two men were arrested after assaults against two females in two different incidents.

The first incident involved a man that was arrested after assaulting his female victim and breaking her television. Cumberland City Police arrested Gerald Allen Moore, 32, of Cumberland MD.

“Moore was arrested on an outstanding Arrest Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court. The Warrant was issued as a result of an incident that occurred on March 27th, 2022. During that incident, it is alleged that Moore destroyed a television set and assaulted a female victim,” police reported. “Moore was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was released on a $2,500 unsecured personal bond.”

Later, the Cumberland City Police Department responded to a residence in the 700 block of Shriver Ave for the report of an assault.

“Upon arrival, officers met with a female victim. The victim advised officers that she and Jeremy Steven Combs, 38, had been involved in an argument that turned physical,” the department reported. “During the altercation, it is alleged that Combs struck the victim in the face, causing minor injuries. As a result, Combs was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing. Combs was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held on a $2,500 bond.”
