Utica Police Arrest Wanted Suspect on Illegal Gun Charge

UTICA, NY – A man wanted for an open warrant was arrested by Utica police officers after he was spotted walking near Plant Street and State Street on Tuesday.

According to police, at around 11:55 AM an officer with the city’s patrol division noticed a male who he knew to have a warrant walking down the street.

Gamar Carter age 40 of Utica was arrested without incident and during the course of a search subsequent to his arrest the officer found a loaded .380 handgun in Carter’s waistband.

Carter was then transported to the Utica Police Department and an investigator with the GIVE unit levied the following charges:
