BURLINGTON CITY, NJ – Police were able to quickly investigate and solve a seafood heist that took place at Dollar General, but the sea-loving perpetrator didn’t go without a fight.

According to police, on Wednesday at approximately 11:28 am, Burlington City Police patrols were dispatched to Rte. 130 at Dollar General for a shoplifting complaint.

“The caller indicated that an individual stole an unreported amount of seafood and fled in a vehicle. Several minutes later a Burlington Twp. police officer observed the suspect operating a vehicle on Sunset Rd. Officers responded to the area and attempted to stop the vehicle on Millennium Dr. in Willingboro,” police said. “The driver entered a private parking lot and began making erratic turns in an attempt to elude the officers. Unable to exit the parking lot the suspect exited his vehicle, took a fighting stance and engaged the officers. As one officer attempted to place him in custody the suspect punched the officer in the face. Officers continued to attempt to arrest him, however he continued fighting, punching two additional officers in the face.”

After several minutes the officers were able to place Kameron Gardenhire, age 27 of Willingboro in custody.
