Manville Police Make Another Arrest in Tuesday Shooting

MANVILLE, NJ – Police in Manville have arrested another suspect involved in a shooting that took place earlier this week.

According to Somerset County Acting Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart, Rasheedah Kearse, age 28, Main Street, South Bound Brook, New Jersey was arrested in relation to gunshots fired in the area of South Street and South 3rd Avenue in the late Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday, Manville Police officers were dispatched to the area of South Street and South 3rd Avenue in response to a 911 call for shots fired.

“Upon arrival, Manville Police Department officers did not locate any injured victims. Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit and Detectives from the Manville Police Department responded to the scene to conduct an investigation,” Taggart said. “As a result of the on-going investigation, Rasheedah Kearse was identified as an additional individual involved in the incident.”


On June 29, 2022, Rasheedah Kearse was arrested without incident in South Bound Brook. Kearse was charged with 2nd degree Unlawful Possession of a firearm and 3rd degree Hindering. Defendant Kearse was lodged at the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing. Defendant Emmanuel Williams was previously taken into custody on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, for his involvement in this incident. Detectives from the Manville Police Department and detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit are continuing the investigation.
