Woman Who Tried to Rob Citizens Bank Arrested

UTICA, NY – Police in Utica have arrested a woman who tried and failed to rob the Citizens Bank on Genessee on Wednesday at around 4:10 PM.

Police said the woman entered the Citizens Bank located at 90 N. Genesee and handed a note to a teller demanding a quantity of money.

“Several other employees witnessed the interaction and immediately recognized the female from prior dealings with bank,” Utica Police said. “The employees refused her demands, the female then fled from the bank toward Wurz Ave. Following the encounter the Utica Police Department was contacted and began an investigation. After learned that so many witnesses were present who recognized the party and witnessed the robbery attempt, a BOLO was immediately issued in an attempt to locate the suspect.”


On Thursday, an investigator with the Utica Police Department Criminal Investigations Division located the suspect, Danielle Hendricks age 31 of Utica, at a residence on the 1200 block of Kemble St.
