53 Year-Old Woman Shot In Chest In Southeast Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a 53 year-old woman hospitalized on July 2nd. This incident happened on the 5800 block of Eastern Avenue in Southeast Baltimore.

According to detectives, “At approximately 4:08 a.m., Southeast District officers’ patrol officers responded to the 5800 block of Eastern Avenue to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived, officers located a 53-year-old female victim inside the location suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect described as a Hispanic or light-skinned black male wearing a black Nike jacket and black sweatpants attempted to rob the Business when the employee intervened and was shot.”

Southeast District Shooting detectives responded to the scene and took control of the investigation.
