EVESHAM, NJ – A man is facing charges after being arrested with a handgun during a 4th of July celebration on Monday.

According to police, at 7:12 PM, Evesham police officers who were assigned to the July 4th celebration events at Savich Field, 525 East Main Street, were advised by an alert citizen about an intoxicated male who possibly had a firearm.

“Officers immediately converged on the male, who was identified as Blaine McCammack. McCammack began acting disorderly and was immediately taken into custody,” police said, “A search incident to arrest, resulted in McCammack being found in possession of an airsoft revolver style handgun that was loaded with rubber bullets. McCammack was also found in possession of pepper spray that was over the weight threshold permitted to be carried in New Jersey, along with a butterfly knife and handcuffs.”

McCammack was transported to Police Headquarters, where he was interviewed by members of the Evesham Police Investigative Bureau. At this time, there is no reason to believe that McCammack intended to carry out an assault on patrons of the July 4th celebration events. McCammack was charged accordingly and lodged in the Burlington County Jail.
