ABINGDON, MD – Police in Abingdon have arrested the man who stabbed a teenager in the Abingdon Walmart on the Fourth of July. Josiah Kamara was arrested and charged.

According to police, on Monday, at approximately 4:17 pm, patrol deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to an apartment on Monument Circle in Abingdon for the report of a stabbing.

“Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim, age 17, suffering from a stab wound outside the apartment building. Deputies immediately began rendering aid until medics arrived and transported the victim to Johns Hopkins Bayview for treatment of what are described as non-life-threatening injuries,” the Harford County Sheriff’s Office said. “Patrol deputies quickly identified the location of the crime scene inside the Abingdon Walmart on Constant Friendship Blvd. Detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division responded to assist and support the investigation.”

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the suspect and victim, who were known to each other, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated with Kamara stabbing the 17-year-old victim with a folding knife. Kamara, age 21, also with an address on Monument Circle, was located and taken into custody without incident. After an initial interview, Kamara was transported to the Harford County Detention Center, charged and subsequently held without bail.
