The Street Guns of Baltimore: Police Try to Disrupt Endless Inventory of Illegal Guns in the City

Jeff Jones

BALTIMORE, MD – Baltimore doesn’t just have a violent crime problem, it also has an illegal gun problem. Illegal guns are everywhere in the city and they’re being used to commit murders and other violent crimes on a daily basis.

The Baltimore Police Department is trying as hard as it can to remove those guns from circulation, but each day, they continue to be used to snuff out the city’s inner-city population. Each morning, the Baltimore Police Department announces multiple shootings and shooting related deaths.

Today, the department highlighted recent gun captures, showcasing the illegal guns that have been taken from illegal gun owners. Keep in mind, in most cases, these are not legal gun owners. These are usually stolen guns, guns imported through national gun trafficking networks and guns that have had their serial numbers removed during the illegal trade.

Maryland has strict gun laws, and no matter how many more gun laws are made, criminals across the city will continue to arm themselves for the street wars taking place in neighborhoods across the city.

Here are a few of the guns and weapons seized by Baltimore police in recent weeks.
