CLARKSTOWN, NY – A Clarkstown police officer on patrol on Herald Court noticed a fire coming from the rear of a home at around 1:10 am on Sunday.  Officer T. Papenmeyer investigated and as he entered the driveway made the call to alert the fire department.

Upon inspection, the officer saw the orange glow from behind the home and alerted the family who was able to exit the home through a garage door.

Valley Cottage, Central Nyack and West Nyack responded to the fire, extinguishing the blaze that damaged the rear deck and melted siding at the rear of the house.
