Newark Police Searching for Missing Elderly Man with Dementia

NEWARK, NJ (PUBLIC SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT) – Interim Newark Public Safety Director Raul Malave requests the public’s help in locating Jene Johnson, 80, of Newark, who was reported missing on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.

Mr. Johnson, who suffers dementia, was last seen in the 100 block of Stuyvesant Avenue at approximately 8 a.m. He is described as 6’4” tall and 160 pounds with a dark complexion, a balding gray head, and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue knitted sweater, black jeans, and a black cap. He may be traveling to New York by train.

Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in quickly locating Mr. Johnson as part of their investigation.
