Cumberland Police to Host National Night Out August 2nd

CUMBERLAND, MD (PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT) – The Cumberland Police Department and the City of Cumberland would like to invite the community to participate in the National Night Out block party taking place, Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the area of Somerville and First Street in Cumberland.

The National Night Out occurs annually across the country on the first Tuesday in August. The event is a community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. These events build neighborhood camaraderie and bring public safety agencies and neighbors together under positive circumstances. This year’s event on Sommerville Avenue will be bigger than ever with over 100 community partners participating. The event will feature free food, drinks, demonstrations, games, and giveaways. There are lots of activities planned for children and we hope people will come out and have some fun.

To kick off National Night Out the City of Cumberland and the Cumberland Police Department will be hosting a free swim at the Constitution Park Pool on Monday, August 1st from 6pm to 8pm with live music followed by a free movie. Please come out and join the Cumberland Police and Fire employees at the pool and have some fun.
