SEASIDE PARK, NJ – The Seaside Park Police Department has released the following reports of incidents requiring police response for the week of July 9, 2022. These incidents do not represent all of the calls for service and police activity during this period.
On July 8th, police were dispatched to the area of I St. and Central to keep the peace between roommates. Officers arrived and spoke to the parties involved. One male was leaving with his belongings and an argument had begun with a female occupant. Officers were able to mediate the situation and stood by while the resident had gathered his items and left the premises.
Community Policing- Police responded to a request from a caller who asked us to check their residence to make sure their house was secure in the area of Decatur and Boulevard. Officers responded and checked the residence and made sure everything was locked, and the homeowner was advised of their findings.
On July 9th, police, Seaside Park and Seaside Heights water rescue, and Tri-Boro First Ais Squad responded to L St. beach for three swimmers in distress. Water rescue units were able to get them safely out of the water and they were transported to Community Medical Center for further treatment.
Police responded to the area of N St. and Ocean Ave. for a burglar alarm activation. Officers responded and checked the perimeter of the residence observing no signs of forced entry. The homeowner arrived and had Officers do a walk through and make sure the interior of the residence was secure as well.
On July 10th, police responded to the area of Decatur and Ocean for a report of criminal mischief. Officers arrived and spoke to the caller who stated during an exchange of property someone they knew broke their window after they had interacted earlier in the day. Police gathered all the information needed to generate a report and took photographs. Officers checked the area for any cameras that may have captured the incident. The caller was advised how to sign charges if they wished to do so.
On July 11th, police and Tri-Boro First Aid Squad responded to help a victim who had fallen and sustained a head injury. Officers and EMS assessed the patient at the scene, and they were transported to Community Medical Center for further treatment.
On July 12th, plice and the Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company responded to Stockton Ave. and the Boulevard for a fire alarm activation. Police arrived and checked the residence and observed the audible alarm but did not see any smoke or active fire. The fire company responded and checked the residence with their heat sensing equipment and made sure the residence was safe.
Police responded to Stockton and Central Avenue for a vehicle that was turned off with a child locked inside along with the vehicle’s keys. Police were able to utilize our lockout kit and safely get the child out of the hot car back to their parent. Tri-Boro First Aid Squad also responded to check the child.
On July 13th, Police and the Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company responded for a mulch fire at a residence in the area of M St. and the Boulevard. Officers arrived and knocked the flames down with a fire extinguisher. There was minor damage to the siding of the residence. The fire company responded and soaked the area with water to make sure the smoldering embers were all out.
On July 15th, police responded to the area of F St. and Ocean for a report of a suspicious unattended package left on the sidewalk. Officers responded and located the item and checked it out. After further investigation it was determined to have just been a cooler that had been left behind. No further police action required.
