Passenger in Vehicle That Struck Pedestrian, Nearly Struck Police, Ejected and Killed During Chase

DUQUESNE, PA – A female passenger in a black Cadillac Escalade that was eluding Duquense Police Officers after nearly striking an officer and running over a pedestrian died after the vehicle crashed in a police pursuit. She was ejected, according to police.

The Allegheny County Police Department said, at approximately 3:20 am on Saturday, a black Cadillac Escalade almost struck a Duquesne Police vehicle on Rt. 837 near Center Street.

“The Escalade then struck a civilian vehicle on Rt. 837 and failed to stop. The Duquesne officer, who witnessed this, attempted to stop the Escalade. A pursuit was initiated and the Duquesne officer lost sight of the Escalade on Camp Hollow Rd in West Mifflin,” ACPD said.


According to police, a short time later, the Escalade approached the entrance to the Allegheny County Airport traveling at a high rate of speed.


“The vehicle entered airport property, almost striking two flaggers working a construction post at the intersection of Lebanon Church Rd and Camp Hollow Rd.,” according to a police statement published on Satuday. “The Escalade lost control and rolled over on airport property ejecting both occupants. An adult female passenger was pronounced deceased at an area hospital. The adult male driver is in stable condition at an area hospital.”
