Gaithersburg 7-Eleven Robbed at Gunpoint, Suspect Sought

Gaithersburg, MD (Press Release) – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police- Major Crimes Division are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who committed an armed robbery of a 7-Eleven on Saturday, July 23, 2022.

At approximately 3 a.m., 5th district officers responded to the 7-Eleven on the 12800 block of Clopper Rd. for a robbery that just occurred.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the store employee who stated that a male subject entered the store, ran up behind him, placed a gun to his back and demanded that he open the cash registers and give him money. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and opened all of the registers.

The suspect removed money from the registers and then ran out out of the store towards Clopper Rd. The suspect is described as a shorter Black male, approximately 5-feet, 5-inches tall, wearing a red ski mask, a long sleeve black shirt with white buttons, black gloves, black jeans and black sneakers. The suspect was armed with a handgun.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Callers may remain anonymous.
